Sprouts chilla is protein and vitamin rich meal that is a great anytime food for everyone. If you have sprouts ready at home, this chilla can be put together in a jiffy, making it an excellent home-made fast food. A good nutritional alternative to those who do not like to consume sprouts in the original form.
Ingredients:
- ½ Cup sprouted daal
- 1tbsp Kala chana atta
- ½ tsp – Jeera powder
- Asafoetida (Hing)-1 pinch
- Green chillies- 2 – finely chopped(Hari mirch)
- Ginger chopped- very little
- Onion chopped-1/2 small onion
- Turmeric powder as per taste
- Coriander leaves-1 teaspoon chopped
- Salt to taste
- Oil-1 teaspoon
Method:
- Grind sprouts in a mixer to a smooth paste.
- In this batter add kala chana atta, green chillies, jeera powder, ginger, salt and water to make a slightly thick paste. It should be the consistency of a dosa batter.
- Pour this sprouts batter into a bowl.
- Heat a non-stick pan. Pour 1 portion of batter in the centre of the pan, swirl around and make medium sized chilla.
- Put few drops of oil around the edges. Allow to cook on a low flame and flip upside down too.
- Fill the chilla with chopped onions and coriander leaves.
- Remove on to a serving plate.
DCN Tip
If the chilla tends to stick to the pan, then cover it with a lid. This technique ensures that the chilla come out easily because of the steam.
