Ragi and Kala Chana Uttapam

We have used whole grain attas like the ragi and the kala chana to make this uttapam, which provide good fibre. It is gluten free calcium and protein rich and can be prepared instantly. Not just breakfast, they make for a healthy snack to satisfy the hunger pangs and are a great lunch box option.

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 4tbsp curd
  • 2 spoon ragi atta
  • 1 spoon rolled oats
  • 1 spoon kala chana atta
  • ½ onion chopped
  • 4-5string beans – chopped
  • ½ capsicum – finely chopped
  • ½ carrot – grated
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • 2-3 curry leaves
  • Salt as per taste

Method:

  1. Take oats, ragi atta and kala chana atta in a bowl and mix with curd. Add water slowly to create a batter easy enough to pour on the pan
  2. Mix beans, carrot, green chilli, capsicum, salt all the other ingredients.
  3. Make small size pancakes on non-stick tava. (Prefer to cover the pan with the lid to avoid sticking).
  4. Serve hot.

DCN TIP

One can have them with peanut chutney or rasam also to make a complete meal. One can add suji instead of samak rice in case you do not have any gluten intolerance.
