Kuttu Ki Kadhi

Ayurveda states that kuttu atta has a warm potency. It is said that to enjoy a meal made from kuttu, without any side effects, combine it with foods that have cold potency. Thus, here we have used yogurt, which has cooling effect to make the Kuttu ki Kadhi.

Serve: 2-3
Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp Kuttu Atta or Buckwheat Flour
  • 2 cups Yogurt
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 11/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • Oil
  • 2 Whole Red Chilies
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2-3 cups Water

For making pakoras

  • 1 cup Kuttu Atta
  • 1 large Potato (boiled)

Method:

    Method:

    1. Beat yogurt and kuttu atta together to make a smooth batter. Add salt, chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder in it and mix well.
    2. Heat oil in the pan. Add cumin seeds and whole red chilies to it. When they splutter add yogurt mixture. Bring it to boil stirring it continuously.
    3. Reduce the flame and let it cook for 10- 15 minutes until it thickens.
    4. For making pakoras

    5. Mash or grate the boiled potato. Make the batter of kuttu atta using water. Add salt and chopped green chilies to it. Add the mashed potato to the batter.
    6. Heat sufficient oil to deep fry the pakoras. Make small balls of the mixture and deep fry them until light brown in color.
    7. Now add the pakoras to the kadhi and cook for 2-3 minutes. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
    8. Serve it hot.
