Pumpkin Seed Tea

Boost your immunity and keep warm this monsoon with this healthy concoction, without the ill-effects of caffeine from tea and coffee.

Ingredients:

  • 10-12 Pumpkin seeds
  • ¼ Clove of star anise
  • 1 Small green cardamom
  • ½ Teaspoon of honey
  • 1 Cup water

Directions:

  1. Powder the pumpkin seeds and add them to boiling water. Let it boil for some while.
  2. Infuse the above with star anise and half crushed cardamom for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the star anise seed and cardamom with the help of a spoon. Pour the concoction into a tea mug, without straining.
  4. Add the honey and drink warm.

Pumpkin seeds being rich in zinc and antioxidants help to boost immunity. Honey along with the therapeutic spices increases the absorption of the phytonutrients in the seeds.
